Mr. Riley,
I am amazed at what you have been able to do on the set. You are by far the best straight ahead drummer that I have heard and your playing in the Vangaurd and Mintzer bands has been outstanding. I only have one thing to ask of you. Why can't you or the vanguard ever come to Seattle? |

Gday John. We met in Amsterdam 2003 at a workshop you gave at the Con. I will be in NY 28th Oct to 7th Nov and then onto Pasic in Austin.
Would it be possible to meet up for a lesson? Are you doing any gigs during this period. - I remember you mentioned the Vanguard big band on a Monday night. Looking forward to meeting you. |

Hello John, I'm an italian drummer. I studied at Berklee College back in 1983. I' loved your atr of bop drumming, and I just both the other two on amazon. Lerning is a neverending story and you are a great teacher, that really share the experience. Was Bill Stewart a student of yours? I can feel I have something in common. Thanks a lot for everything |
